Kate Emery is a YA author and journalist. Her 2024 cosy crime murder mystery, My Family and Other Suspects,was shortlisted for the Indie Book Awards. Her 2022 YA fantasy novel, The Not So Chosen One, was shortlisted for the Text Prize, the Aurealis Awards and was named a Children’s Book Council of Australia notable book. Her next book, a YA murder mystery called A Murder Is Going Down, will be out in November 2025.
When she's not trying to write her own biography in the third person, Kate likes reading Agatha Christie and going to the movies.
