Council understands the NSW Government has supported Melbourne Storm’s location to Albury as a temporary training base and is awaiting written confirmation.

Subject to confirmation and a further briefing for AlburyCity Councillors, it is our understanding that the Storm squad will be fully isolated from the local community at all times in strict accordance with expert health advice, with the visitors required to have exclusive use of all facilities during their stay, while the public will be completely excluded from all contact with the entire squad, including their training activities.

The safety of our community is paramount and under the biosecurity arrangements as outlined to Council and supported by the NSW Government, we are satisfied that the Storm’s short term presence in Albury will not present any increased risk to our community.
