Known for his gentle, soulful sound and heartfelt storytelling, Pirritu’s music explores themes of love, loss and hope, identity and cultural reconnection.

Adopted as a newborn, he began his personal cultural journey at just 14. Today, he continues this work through the Ngiyampaa Language Project and as a board member of Songlines, Victoria’s peak Aboriginal music body. His career has taken him across Australia and internationally, captivating audiences with performances that are both intimate and uplifting.

Albury Mayor Kevin Mack said Music in the Gardens continues to play an important role in showcasing culture and creativity in the city.

"Music in the Gardens is one of those events that truly brings our community together. it's relaxed, welcoming and highlights the beauty of our Botanic Gardens," Mayor Mack said.

"It’s a great way to showcase a diverse range of musical talent while offering locals and visitors alike the chance to enjoy a free, high-quality cultural experience in the heart of Albury."

The Music in the Gardens series transforms the Botanic Gardens into a vibrant open-air amphitheatre on the third Sunday of March, April, May, September and November each year. This season, performances will be held in the Rose Garden area.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a chair or picnic rug for a relaxed afternoon of music, fresh air and community spirit. Food and drinks will be available for purchase on site.

"We’re proud to support events like this that help make Albury such a vibrant and liveable place to be," Mayor Mack added.

Friends of the Albury Botanic Gardens will host a plant sale, next to the curator’s cottage, during the concert. All money raised goes back into more garden projects.
