Celebrated for her sculptural approach to fibre art, Moodie will guide participants through a day of creative exploration, introducing techniques in sculptural tapestry, shaping, texture building and professional finishing. Each participant will create a unique woven artwork to take home.

Designed for both beginners and experienced makers, the workshops emphasise creativity, intuitive making and connection. All materials are included, and the workshop environment encourages play, experimentation and hands-on learning.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Maryanne Moodie to Albury,” said Pumphouse Coordinator Susan Reid.

“Her workshops are known for sparking creativity, connection and confidence, and we can’t wait to offer this experience to our community.”

Based in Melbourne, Moodie is known globally for her contemporary woven works which blend traditional craft with bold, modern forms. Her pieces appear in private and public collections, including Little Beach House (a Soho House hotel) in Barcelona, the Intercontinental Hotel Dubai, and the US Embassy in Chad. She is the author of the acclaimed books On the Loom and Modern Weaver, and is widely regarded for her community-focused teaching practice.

“Weaving invites us to slow down, explore texture and connect through making,” Moodie said.

“I’m looking forward to creating something beautiful together with participants at The Pumphouse.”

The workshop is suitable for both beginners and experienced makers alike. The workshop costs $270 (or $243 with applicable discounts), which includes all materials and a completed woven artwork.

Spots are limited, book now to secure your place on The Pumphouse website.
