Music in the Gardens event will take place on Sunday, 19 April from 1pm to 3pm, featuring an eclectic mix of banjo, violin, accordion, saxophone and bass to the central lawns.

Hailing from northern Melbourne, The Backyard Banjo Club is known for its playful style, blending upbeat and sultry sounds with a tongue-in-cheek stage presence. The group describes its performances as “Wes Anderson meets Quentin Tarantino for a festival set”.

The band has built a strong following through sell-out Melbourne shows and appearances at festivals across the country, including the Woodford Folk Festival, Yackandandah Folk Festival and Tablelands Folk Festival.

Albury Mayor Kevin Mack said Music in the Gardens offers another chance for the community to experience live performances locally in a relaxed setting.

“Following the strong turnout at Music on the Murray in March, we look forward to welcoming residents and visitors back to the Botanic Gardens for another relaxed afternoon,” Mayor Mack said.

Music in the Gardens will return again in May, with details to be announced soon.

The series is proudly brought to you by AlburyCity and Johnsons MME, with support from Murray Conservatorium.
