Community Stories

WRITE around Murray

You are invited to contribute to a collaborative story writing activity. This is a fun writing experience for anyone in the community. You can contribute in two different ways: Our community story revolves around the central character Murray who is a local resident of the Albury/Wodonga region. We've started the story with a preface and Chapter 1 and we invite you now to pick up the story and compose 100 words or less and continue the story of Murray. Helpful advice and instructions for contributing your story and images are provided at the site.

You'll be able to see the story unfolding online as contributions are posted into the wikispace pages - the creation of our own e-story. Story contributions will also be on display at Dymocks book store and you'll be able to write your contributions with pen and paper if you prefer. If you'd like to experience writing collaboratively online but you don't have a computer, you can log in to the wikispace from the Library or from Dymocks store. Come along and watch the storytelling happening, right in the front window of Dymocks.

WRITE around the Murray story festival invites you to contribute as a writer or as an illustrator too; so get your drawings, graphics or photos into electronic format and try your hand at uploading to the Gallery in the wikispace. We're looking for suitable graphics to illustrate Murray and our story chapters.

Lavington Memories Online!

You are invited to share your memories of Lavington, an integral suburb of Albury City. Visit the Lavington Memories exhibition at the Lavington library and celebrate the unique identity and local history of Lavington.

The local experiences and memories of members of the Lavington community have been recorded and documented using three different mediums: film and the production of a digital story; website contributions recording memories online; and objects, photographs and maps, which are displayed at the Lavington Library.

We invite you to add a story, a Lavington Memory contribution online, at the Lavington Memories wiki space at:

http://write-around-murray.wetpaint.com/

Helpful advice and instructions for contributing your story and images are provided at the site.

Contribute your own memories or read the memories and thoughts contributed by other Lavington community members. Please limit your contributions to 250 words per story.
