Thanks for your support of the 2011 Schools' Program

Michael Pryor during the schools’ program

Fantastic support from border region schools made the Write around the Murray schools' program a success for another year.

Thanks to all our presenters for taking part in the festival: Donna Rawlins, Wayne Harris, Michael Pryor, Fiona Wood, Jack Heath, JC Burke, Steven Amsterdam and John Charalambous. They all ran insightful sessions for students in years K-12 and engaged the students in their experiences of reading, writing and illustrating.

Thanks also goes to the encouraging support of the school principals, teachers and librarians for bringing the students along - keep an eye on this page for the Write around the Murray 2012 schools' program! Don't forget to tell your colleagues what a great time you and your students had at the festival...

Below are comments from teachers who attended sessions in 2011:

"The children were highly engaged. Donna was lovely with the children - our staff enjoyed it too!" Session attended: Donna Rawlins (Year K-2)

"So pleasant and most inspiring to students and teachers also." Session attended: Wayne Harris (Year 3 and 4)

"We attended Jack Heath's workshop. Unlike Jack, I'm at a loss with words to describe our experience, not really, it was awesome, uplifting, humourous, inspiring and far too short. Thanks, so many inspired writers and readers are leaving this experience." Session attended: Jack Heath (Year 5)

"It was excellent for the students to learn about how books are published, as well as listen to Michael's experiences with writing narratives." Session attended: Michael Pryor (Year 6)
