Bernard Caleo

Bernard Caleo Bernard Caleo is a performer and a comic book maker. Presently he works at Melbourne Museum developing presentations which have interpreted exhibitions about bugs, mummies, the Great Wall of China, dinosaurs and Pompeii.  He has also developed characters and told stories at the State Library of Victoria, Melbourne University and the Old Melbourne Gaol. He has written, drawn and published comic books since 1990.  Since 1997 he has published the almost-annual Tango, a giant Australian romance comics anthology, printing original work by comic book makers from Australia and New Zealand. He received a 'Presentation' grant from Arts Victoria to help publish Tango8: Love and Food (December 2008) , and in December 2009 Allen and Unwin will publish The Tango Collection, a selection of stories from the first eight issue of the series. For Bernard, both theatre and comics are very fine means of world creation, and that is what he is here for.  He lives in Melbourne with Susan and their sons Joseph and Zebedee, and is always up for a coffee. www.cardigancomics.com
