Janelle Bloom

Janelle Bloom is one of this country’s most-loved food writers. She believes good cooking begins with confidence, a little patience and well written recipes that are easy to follow. She cares very much that each of her recipes is foolproof, uses seasonal fresh ingredients that are readily available. What's more, each one has to taste every bit as good as it looks.
Janelle is one of the original chefs who inspire viewers every day on the high-rating Network 10/Southern Star production of Ready, Steady, Cook now in its fifth year on air. When asked to describe the show, she says: ‘It's challenging and chaotic, but the most fun I’ve had in a kitchen and the best job I have ever had!’
In November 2008, Random House Australia published Janelle’s gorgeous cookbook
Fast, Fresh and Fabulous. It’s a beautiful collection of many of her special recipes that she hopes will encourage readers to try her no-fuss approach to delectable, homemade meals for family and friends. November 2009 Janelle will release another book called
Fab Food for Family and Friends. Janelle was the food editor for more than four years of Australia's bestselling food magazine, and she continues to contribute to magazines and radio, currently working with Pacific Magazines as the Food Editor on Family Circle. Janelle has been writing, teaching and educating the public in print and on TV for 10 years and has previously published two cookbooks. She was a regular presenter on Channel 9's What's Cooking for seven years and is considered Australia’s leading microwave cook.
Janelle volunteers as much time as she can each week to her favourite cause, Ronald McDonald House in Randwick. She is the newly appointed ambassador for the House. She says: ‘Working as a volunteer puts everything into perspective. It's something we should all do.’
When Janelle has some precious downtime she loves to read, swim, exercise (to work off all the food she eats)... and cook, of course.
